Sometimes it’s just nice to be a tourist and do things in your city that you don’t usually do. This morning I had a double senior shoot at the Union downtown on campus and then we went to Pope Farm Park in Madison to catch the field of sunflowers in full bloom. my, was it breath taking.
One of the craziest things about Madison is the union. It brings so many people together for laughter, fun, and a good beer while enjoying the city and the beauty it holds. However, at 6:30 in the morning, it’s empty. It’s not a bad thing – it’s rather peaceful and beautiful. Watching the sunrise with just he waves crashing and the seagulls chirping is a nice way to start any day. The craziest thing about it is that in a few short hours, it would be packed and filled with good conversation on a perfect Sunday.
Pope Farm wil always amaze me. The sunflowers don’t bloom too long, but when they are blooming, they’re breath taking. This year they suspect it to be a “rolling bloom” which insists that they won’t all bloom at once and that they’ll come and go at different times because of how weird the weather was this spring.
